Butternut Tristate Race, Sunday, January 7 –
Call for Additional Volunteers

We still need volunteers for the U12/U14 race this coming Sunday, January 7th.

No experience is necessary! Please sign up here.  Gate Judge Training and Q&A will take place on Saturday, January 6 at 11:30 AM in the Upper Lodge (back room).  Prior to the meeting, please view this 13-minute video on gate judging from US Ski & Snowboard Association.  The fewer volunteers we have, the longer the race takes!

Training Plans for Weekend Jan 6 – 7

The training plans are now being emailed by Ski Butternut.  Please email raceadmin@skibutternut.com to be placed on the email distribution list if you are not already receiving them.  The parent who registered for the program is automatically signed up.



 — U16 GS race at Berkshire East  – Postponed due to extreme low temps – New date tbd.  Look for updates on Tristate website.
 — U19, U14 and U12  slalom training will start at 9 am 

— 9 – 11 and 12:30 – 2:30 – Meeting Place: Base of Main Street


— U12 and U14 race registration opens at 7:00 am in Upper Lodge, NB:  USSA rules state that races cannot start if temperature is equal to or below -5 degrees.  If this is the case on Sunday, the start may be delayed.
— U16 training GS training Butternut at 9am
— U19 Bousquet race start delayed  from 9:30 to 10:30 am due to low expected temperature

— 9-11 and 12:30-2:30 Meeting Place changed to area between Upper Lodge and Overbrook Triple Chair due to the Tristate race  

Club Merchandise

All club merchandise is available for order in the Shop.

Jackets: Midnight, January 8th is the deadline to order Butternut Race Club jackets for this season.  Jackets will be vailable for pick up January 20th at the Butternut shop.

Hats: Butternut Race Club Swix ski hats available for sale.

Sweatshirts/Long-Sleeve Shirts: If you ordered a club sweatshirt in the fall, they can be picked up in the Butternut Ski & Board Shop.

Club Annual Meeting

The Butternut Race Club held its annual meeting on December 28, 2017. Highlights and financials from the 2016/2017 season were shared with Club members. In addition, the Club formed a new interim board comprised of 10 members.   The interim board held its first meeting and organized committees to address Club business including amending the Club’s by-laws. More information about the board, the Club’s organization, and the 2017-2018 membership meeting prior to the end of this ski season is forthcoming. Please note that all families with a child enrolled in a race program are members of the Club.
